This year has been so much fun! The Young Alumnae group has been such a great way to connect young sisters with the association.

I'm so excited to turn over the association to Brooke! She has some wonderful ideas for the group! Don't worry! You'll still see me around. :-)

Young Alumnae Happy Hour

Our Young Sisters have been meeting the first Friday of every month since last September. We enjoy each other's company as we catch up on the month's news and gossip. Haven't attended yet? There's always room for more! Check out our schedule to the left of the page or watch your e-mail for info each month.

Due to the success of a great Happy Hour last Friday, we will continue to meet at Boston's Restaurant in Coralville (it's behind the mall - in the strip mall across from Olive Garden).

Founder's Day Brunch

Congratulations to Connie, Carol, Kimberlee and Debra for their 25 years and Wilma for her 60 years of being an Alpha Xi Delta.

HAPPY FOUNDER’S DAY!!!

I have some great news to share. Sigma chapter rocked again at the Iowa Greek Awards – Tagarista Banquet! Our chapter was recognized for the following:

Most Improved GPA Fall 2007
Excellence in Chapter Management and Operations
Excellence in Fraternal and Community Relations
Excellence in Leadership and Educational Development
Excellence in Recruitment
Excellence in Self Governance and Judicial Affairs

Overall Chapter Excellence Award (1 of 4 chapters – other chapters included Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, and Kappa Alpha Theta)

Kristie was also surprised to receive the Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award.

Congratulations to our sisters! Your alumnae are so proud of you!

Build A Bear Philanthropy - Part 2

Last night we joined the Sigma chapter and the Delta Chi chapter at Build-A-Bear. We helped make 12 bears to donate to the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City. It was so much fun and we hope to do it again next year!

Build A Bear Philanthropy

Hello Sisters!

My name is Meggie and I'm the PRVP of Sigma chapter. On Monday, February 18th at six pm both the Delta Chi chapter and the Sigma chapter are going to be holding a Build A Bear party at the Coral Ridge Mall's Build A Bear.

All bears donated will be going to the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City and if a "Read Bear" is made, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to First Book.

We would love to have both the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids Alumnae Associations join us on this night!

This weekend's events

Hello Sisters!

Due to the pending snow and the bad roads from this week we have chosen to cancel the Valentine's Luncheon tomorrow. I hope all of you stay safe until the bad weather passes us. I hope to see you all at the Philanthropy Dinner, Wednesday, March 12th at 6PM - HuHot.

For you young alumnae, we WILL still have happy hour tonight since the snow has yet to start.

Winter Dinner

This past Tuesday 6 alumnae met together at The Edge in Coralville for our Winter Dinner. We enjoyed good food and great friends! We hope to see you at an event in February: Valentine's Luncheon, Happy Hour for Young Alumnae, or visit some collegiates at Dance Marathon!
