Last night we enjoyed great food with our wonderful sisters. Thank you to all who brought children's gifts for Operation Homefront.

Holiday Party

Hello Sisters!

Our holiday party is next week! Can you believe how fast the year has flown by? Our sister Pat Hanick has graciously volunteered to host our event yet again this year! We ask that you bring a dish to share with your sisters (hors d-oeuvre's, desert, etc.)

We also ask that you bring a toy or a gift for a child. Our philanthropy give us a wonderful chance to show our generosity during this holiday season. If you have any questions (or need a good gift idea) just let me know!

Initiation Part 2

Last night some of the local alumnae joined the Sigma Chapter at their initiation. The next one will be Friday, December 7th. We will change the young alumnae monthly drinks to the following Friday inorder for our alumnae to attend the next initiation.

Initiation

Tonight is Initiation at the Sigma Chapter. There will be a few alumnae attending to show our love and support to the 16 women joining our sisterhood. If you would like to attend, you can show up or contact me. I am going and the alumnae are planning to going to dinner afterwards.

Our association is off to such a great start! I've been meeting some new sisters and gettting to know some old sisters even better!

Our Young Alumnae Happy Hour is a success! Every month we meet at Charlie's in Coralville to catch up on the month's events. I am so glad to see new sisters come to meet us! I hope that everyone who might be interested in our association can come to get to know your sisters. We are also doing some extra fun events! Last week a handfull of us met downtown to watch Iowa's Homecoming parade. We cheered on the Sigma chapter's float and our alumnae sister Beth's company. Our next Young Alumnae event will be just before Halloween, The Rocky Horror Picture Show! Watch your e-mail and this website for information as it gets posted!

Our regual association is still going strong. We meet once a month for dinner. Next Wednesday we will be at Divot's Bar and Grill in Coralville. Come at 6PM to enjoy good food and carch up with some old friends!

DUES!

As you receive your yearly letters you will notice a change in your dues. There are now TWO levels.

ACTIVE SISTERS - those of you who are able to join us for an activity (or hopefully all of them) this year

INACTIVE SISTERS - those of you who are unable to join us for activities but still wish to be included in the association.

All sisters, active or inactive, will be counted in the total given to FHQ. $20 from EVERYONE's dues is sent to them with our yearly report.

As for the rest of the money, we use it for such things as: Roses to Sigma Chapter, Yearly Mailing, Decorations for events, etc.

ALL RECENT GRADS ('06 or '07) will not owe dues this year as per FHQ's suggestion. So come join us for some events!

Please note that we would like to collect the dues before the end of this year.

Alumnae Support

We are so fortunate to have a local chapter associated with our association. Many of us came from Sigma and once a year we get the chance to give our support. Iowa's Recruitment has had many changes over the years. But one thing has remained the same - our chapter.

Every day of recruitment alumnae were there. Serving drinks, running errands, washing dishes. Anything and everything to give our sisters support. The chapter had a very successful recruitment taking 17 new women! A few of us had the chance to meet them at Pledging this week. I know we are all excited to have these new sisters!

This year we will be having many new events with our alumnae. Watch your mail in the upcoming weeks for our yearly letter!

Recruitment Roses!

The chapter has started their recruitment week today! They are having alot of fun! Our alumnae association donated some roses today and will do so on Saturday.

Ifr you would like to donate roses I know the chapter would greatly appreciate it!!!

Waterfront HyVee floral dept: 319-354-8023. It's running about $40 for a dozen!

Friday's Happy Hour

Our first Young Alumnae event was a success. Small, but fun! We chatted over drinks and exchanged ides for events. I will be compiling them and coming up with the official calandar in the next few weeks. You will have a hard copy mailed to you. If you prefer it sent through e-mail just let me know!

Hello Sisters!
Welcome to the Alpha Xi Delta Alumnae Association - Iowa City Chapter website! I have just returned from convention where I was able to meet sisters from all over the country. I attended some alumnae break out sessions which gave me lots of new ideas for our association. This website is the first of some very exciting changes! I hope to roll out all of the new ideas by the time we start meeting this fall. Stay tuned!!
